documenting the tiny and heartfelt moments of your newborn bubble
Documenting the sweet newborn bubble in the comfort of your own home or in studio. Encapsulating the tiny, wrinkly details in an effortless, simple and relaxed way.
These sessions are slow paced, candid & gently guided. Documenting this season is so priceless. ♡
I recommend between 5-21 days old, the earlier we do it, often the easier newborns are to capture. We will initially schedule your newborn shoot for 10+ days past your due date.
The only ‘wrong time’ is never.

Chlo’s in-home newborn shoot flow
This is every photographers secret, piece of gold. But I’m going to let you in on exactly how I flow through my in-home newborn sessions. For in-home shoots, if bub is asleep, I will show up with your favourite coffee and I will start with solo portraits of baby while you relax and rest after countless restless nights I’m sure. Then your family will snuggle up on the couch and once bub is beginning to be a little restless, your family can cuddle and settle bub in the bedroom. This is where we will document breastfeeding moments, skin to skin and all of the intimate details of motherhood. If bub is fussy when I arrive, please do not stress - we will just do the flow in reverse!
how do i prepare for an in-home newborn shoot?
Please do not stress if your house doesn’t look Pinterest-worthy. Your home is already filled with love, and that’s all that truly matters. That said, a little pre-session tidy up can make a big difference for your in-home newborn photoshoot! We’ll mainly be using your living space, bedroom, and baby’s nursery, so my biggest tip? Clear the surfaces! Hide the water bottles, tuck the cords away, and if all else fails - embrace the classic ‘shove it under the bed’ technique. A clutter-free space keeps the focus where it should be - on your beautiful little love.
Also a tip for your bedroom styling, it’s best to use light coloured (white, cream, beige, light grey) sheets for your bed. This can help bounce light and keep your babys skin tone even.

FAQs
-
The best time to book your newborn session is during your second or third trimester. This guarantees my availability and means one less thing to think about once bub arrives. We’ll plan your session for 10+ days after your due date, giving you time to settle in, rest, and soak up those early newborn moments.
-
No stress at all! Due dates can shift throughout pregnancy, and that’s completely normal. Just keep me updated, and if needed, we’ll adjust your session. Most of the time, the change isn’t significant enough to reschedule, but if it is, we’ll make it work!
-
Your home is your story, and it’s perfect just as it is! Please don’t stress about unrealistic standards; lived-in homes make for the most heartfelt images. That said, a few simple tweaks can help: white bedsheets create a dreamy, studio like backdrop for bubs close ups, and clearing bench tops and floors (yes, even if that means a quick stash under the bed!) keeps the focus on your beautiful moments.
-
For your newborn session, I recommend soft, neutral tones.
Think warm browns, whites, and beiges. Linen, cotton, and other natural textures photograph beautifully, creating a timeless, organic feel. Flowy, dreamy dresses add a touch of elegance, while soft, relaxed fits keep everyone comfortable. Keeping tones neutral allows the focus to stay on the love and connection in your images, rather than bold colors or patterns.

I am up to date with Whooping Cough, MMR, Varicella and the Flu vaccine. I am more than happy to provide you with documents if needed. Your babies health and safety is at the top of my priority list, always.
what if my baby cries and is fussy for our newborn photoshoot?
My newborn sessions are designed with all the real, raw moments in mind. From milky spews to nappy explosions and those times when bub just needs to be held close, we embrace it all. I will have my neutral coloured newborn outfits and blankets with me for backups incase of any incidents that catch us out on the day. If we change baby during the session, it may make for beautiful skin to skin images - so it’ll be ok, I promise.
Also, please keep in mind that this is a brand new journey for both of you, and our session will be slow paced, there’s no rush. There’s plenty of time for feeds, resettling, and soaking in those quiet, in between moments - because often, they’re the sweetest. Your newborn photoshoot is about capturing your little love exactly as they are - beautiful, pure, and so deeply loved.
Hear from other mums.
